They say here that 200 million back then supposedly equals 1.2 trillion dollars today. That’s pure bullshit. Check out inflation calculator (google it). It says “What cost $200 in 1918 would cost $2825.26 in 2009.”. So it’s 2.8 billion, which is a few orders less than 1.2 trillion.

Ive been thinking for some time now that an idea would be to setup a shop where you can buy gold in small amounts say for example twenty dollars worth and recieve a small nugget,
The flip side to this idea is the shop could issue a recipt for the gold if you wanted to leave the gold at the shop.

money was a stupid idea to begin with. if you really think about it, all money does is allow value to become attached to everything – even those that should never be owned – and ultimately give the whole public a reason to be totally and permanently endebted to a governing body without them realising. it is ironic that the one thing that we feel declares us ‘civilised’ (i.e. money) is the one thing holding us back from becoming truly civilised.
